Our Houses

The House System here at KGV School is a way of creating a family spirit amongst our students - but also fostering co-operation and, yes, competition.

At the point in which a student joins us, they are allocated to a House - and they stay in that House throughout their entire time with us. At KGV School, our Houses are Crozier, Nightingale, Rowell, Upsdell.

School Activities

As you would expect in a community of over 1200 students and 200 staff, there is never a dull moment here at KGV School. Every day there are a multitude of clubs, societies and teams in operation - all of which are designed to allow the students to find their own passion, but also to develop skills such as teamwork, communication and leadership.

Experiential Learning

At KGV School, we emphasise experiential learning as a key element of our educational approach. This method encourages students to engage directly with their environment, enhancing understanding through hands-on experiences. Through CAS (Creativity, Activity, Service) Activities, we allow students to foster strong relationships and a sense of belonging, which are essential for personal and academic growth.

Student Leadership

While not every one of our students will want to be a leader - either in school or later in life, we recognise that leadership skills are important to all of us as we lead our lives. There are a variety of ways in which our young people can get involved, manage and lead either in the school or in the community.
