Students study the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP) for three years. The MYP builds upon the knowledge, skills and attitudes developed in the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) and prepares students to meet future academic challenges, including IGCSE, BTEC and the IB Diploma Programme (DP).
Years 10 & 11 follow the British GCSE, IGCSE or BTEC curricula and lead to examinations and qualifications in each subject. Typically each course spans two years, in Years 10 and 11, with final exams and coursework presented in May or June of Year 11.
Students choose to either study a broad-based International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) or to focus their studies and follow a specialised vocational pathway which centres around one or more BTEC qualifications. IBDP and BTEC classes are capped at 16. These small classes enable students to grow as learners in a supportive and nurturing learning environment.

I would describe my time at our esteemed school as transformative, supported, and inspired. I have learned things about myself, including my academic aptitudes, personal goals, and my role in wider society, all while feeling uplifted and encouraged by countless staff members and students in our community.

The academic highs. The supportive and nurturing teachers. The sports and games which I enjoyed even though I wasn't very good. And above all, the great, great friends who have remained my friends to this day.

Went through my IB years mostly at home and was a great challenge for me. That was the not so good part but I had lots of amazing memories as house captains and dance captain!

Congratulations to Evan! They won the championship in the Secondary School division of the CArtREfugee — Postcard Design Competition 2025! Out of 900 entries, his design stood out for its powerful message.
Evan shared, "With guidance from Mr. Colin Bell, I created a design that highlights the urgent issue of climate refugees. My concept was inspired by the reality that climate change is making more lands uninhabitable, forcing people to leave their homes. The image of a single island surrounded by a turbulent sea represents the devastating impacts of rising sea levels, flooding, and storms, leading to displacement and migration."
Great work and message Evan, keep up the great work! #esfschools #kgv_hk #studentartist #champion #environmentalawareness
